The range shown is what fastener wholesalers commonly list — not a claim about what the standard mandates, and not a stock list. In-between lengths (85, 95, 170…), lengths past 300mm and odd diameters like M7 are made too, and availability varies by finish and grade — ask us for anything you can't see.
Which point does what
Cup point (DIN 916) is the default: the ring edge bites into the shaft and holds hard. It marks what it grips, which is fine on something that is not coming apart often. The knurled cup is the same point with a serrated ring — it resists vibration loosening, which is why it turns up on pulleys and couplings.
Flat point (DIN 913) barely marks the surface, so it suits a shaft that has to slide or be re-set, or soft material you do not want dented. It holds by friction alone, so it needs more torque and a flat to sit on.
Cone point (DIN 914) digs deepest and is for a permanent set, usually into a drilled dimple or spotted flat. Best holding power of the lot; hardest to move again.
Dog point (DIN 915) has a plain cylindrical nose that drops into a hole or slides in a slot — so it locates the part as well as clamping it, and lets a shaft be removed and put back in the same position.
45H is a hardness class, not a tensile one
Grub screws are loaded in compression, so they are graded by hardness under ISO 898-5: 45H means 450–560 HV, roughly 45–53 HRC. There is no tensile figure to compare with an 8.8 or a 12.9. Stainless equivalents run to ISO 3506-3, class 21H.
They are fully threaded by construction — no head means no shank. Expect up to two incomplete threads at the end.
